The LV600 Series unique float level switches provide an economical means of pump-up/pump-down level control with just one level switch. The ON/OFF differential is set by adjusting the length of cable over which the LV600 is allowed to float. Depending on whether the LV600 is floating with the cable UP or DOWN (see drawing), the 15 amp relay is on or off. The relay changes state when the LV600 is above or below the fixed point by 80% of the cable length. For example, if the cable is fixed for 10' (3 m) of free cable, the LV600 will trigger at 8' (2.5 m) above and below the fixed point. Thus, turbulence will generally not cause false switching. The cable can be fixed to a pipe, or the accessory counterweight can be used by slipping it over the cable (see drawing). The mechanical SPDT switch has no potentially dangerous mercury, is rated for 15A at 250 Vac, and can switch more than 100,000 times. The internal microswitch relay carries UL and CSA approvals. The case and cable are hermetically sealed by a two-step plastic injection molding process to ensure a leak-tight seal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional Product We have been on the hunt for better "floaters" for our submersible pumps and came across LV600 series. So far it's far superior to what we had been using. Customer service was very knowledgeable and made ordering this simple. The delivery time as pretty impressive. We received it two days before expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Robust SPDT float switch This is the second time we have used this float for our application. It was one of the few SPDT float switches our electrician could find that is required for our application. We needed one that had three wires so that it could both disable the pump and a motorized valve. The cord has held up so far in the system we installed it in, which is subject to some corrosive acid gases from the decomposing food waste. The float itself seems more robustly built than others I've used in the past.

Is LV622-N class1 div. 11 compliant?

Asked by: Chris11
Unfortunately, the LV600 series is not rated for hazardous applications.

Is this float rated for drinking water applications (NSF61)?

Asked by: Taurus
Thank you for your inquiry on the level switches. Unfortunately, it is not rated for NSF61 and do not have any level switches available or rated for that approval.

1. What are the physical dimensions of the LV622-N float switch end? 2. Specific gravity for this unit states .72. Water is 1.0. Can this unit be used in an outdoor buried water cistern tank (at our cottage)? 3. What angle in deg. does switch activate?

Asked by: Rickyo
Thank you for your inquiry. 1) The LV622-N is 4.25" in diameter and 2.15" in thickness. 2) This float can be used with fluids that have a specific gravity greater than 0.72 so yes, this float can be used in water. 3) The relay changes state when the LV600 is above or below the fixed point by 80% of the cable length. For example, if the cable is fixed for 3 m (10') of free cable, the LV600 will trigger at 2.5 m (8') above and below the fixed point. Thus, turbulence will generally not cause false switching.
