OMEGA’s PX309 Series Stainless Steel Pressure transducers below 100 psi use a high accuracy silicon sensor protected by an oil-filled stainless steel diaphragm. Units 100 psi and above use silicon strain gages molecularly bonded to the stainless steel diaphragm.

We provide a complete range of services—from product inception, through design and prototypes, to manufacturing and testing. Our application engineers work closely with our customers to customize, design or create entirely new products. Call us—whether you’re an OEM, manufacturer, or end user.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from compact and reliable Have purchased several of these transducers over the last 10 years and do not recall ever having to replace one due to failure. I usually get the 319 series and my only complaint is that there is no key on the connector to simplify pin alignment. They are also offered a wide range of pressure ratings.

Is it possible to connect multiple pressure transmitters with each of there readout meters into one PC? How to do the cabling and wiring?

Asked by: Ocochem
Assuming that you would be using the 4 to 20mA output version on the PX309 you can simply break the connect of the PX309 and wire the input to the data acquisition you are using with your pc in series with the 4 to 20mA signal from the sensor. If the data acquisition system is designed for a DC voltage input you will need to use a shunt resistor to convert the current signal to voltage.

I would like to use in an application where the fluid could come into contact with food. Does this transducer have any FDA certifications (FDA 21 CFR or similar).

Asked by: herbie
The PX309 are designed for general use. They do not have any FDA certifications.

What is the input impedance and output impedance of the PX309?

Asked by: JWeng
We do not provide the input/output impedance for the PX309 0 to 5VDC output units. The impedance can widely vary due to the internal components used in the each sensor.

What is the difference between a compound gauge and absolute gauge?

Asked by: jackie270
The compound gauge are measuring a vacuum or positive pressure relative to the atmospheric pressure. The unit has a vent to atmosphere for the reference. The absolute gauge units measure pressure relative to an internal sealed vacuum reference.

Do the PX359 series sensors keep their IP65 rating when paired with Omega's M12 connectors, such as item M12C-PUR-4-S-F-2?

Asked by: Anonymous
No, the sensor will maintain its IP65 rating, but the M12 connectors and cable will not meet that rating.

What is the accuracy and repeatability for PX359-100GI and PX319-300G5V? I see conflicting values in the product summary, common specificiations, and the datasheet.

Asked by: Mayub
Combined accuracy of the PX309 Series is 0.25% BSL. This is a root, sum, square calculation of the linearity, hysteresis & repeatability values for this sensor.

Can this transducer be used with a 24Vdc power supply?

Asked by: nrebers
Thank you for contacting Omega Engineering with your question. The PX309 series transducers are available several different output types and not all of them can operate on 24 Vdc. If the model in questions has a 0-5 Vdc, 0-10 Vdc, or 4-20 mA output then yes, they can operate on 24 volts. If it is one with a millivolt output, then the excitation voltage would be 5 or 10 Vdc depending on the pressure range. Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions.

Can the sensor PX309 be used in oxygen enriched environment, e.g. 100% O2 concentration. The question is whether the O2 will be able to enter the electronic part of the sensor or it will be stopped by membrane and if materials are appropriate

Asked by: Darko
Thank you for this inquiry Due to the construction of our model PX309 series sensors we would not recommend that the sensor be used in oxygen enriched environment.

I have the PX359-015A10V pressure transducer (0-15 psia, 0-10V output). I am wondering if the 0.25% accuracy, that is given on the specification sheet, means that the accuracy is 0.25% of the full scale?

Asked by: JoeyH9
Yes the 0.25% accuracy is of the full scale range of the sensor.

If I need to measure pressures at 0.05 psia, what pressure transducer would you recommend? Note that I need to make pressure measurements in a vacuum chamber.

Asked by: JoeyH9
thank you for your inquiry. The smallest range and most accurate absolute pressure pressure range unit we offer is the PX409-005A10V. This has an accuracy of 0.08%. We do not offer a 0 to 1 PSIA range in the PX309 or PX409 Series sensors.

How do I I calibrate PX319-300A?

Asked by: Brad125
Thank you for reaching out to Omega with your question. The pressure transducer you have , has a 300 psia range with an analog output. Typically it will be 4-20 mA/ amplified voltage or mV/V. Typically you would use a pressure calibrator to simulate known pressures, in your case 0 psia at no load and 300 psia at full pressure then you will measure the analog output from the pressure transducer. The output will have to be trimmed so that it meets the 0.25 % FS accuracy specification listed on the specification sheet. (Note that this unit does not come with span/ zero adjustment pots) We suggest sending the unit back to the factory for recalibration one year after installation of the unit. Thank you.
